About this event

Gig School is an exciting opportunity for young people ages 12-17 to play, rehearse and perform in a band setting.

Young musicians taking part will learn how to communicate with each other as a band, learn about live music rehearsal, set-up and soundcheck, and performance techniques. They’ll perform in large bands, as well as getting the chance to form ‘breakaway bands’ during the week.

The sessions are led by a team of four experienced tutors specialising in guitar, bass, keys, drums and vocals.

We advise that young people playing guitar, bass, keys, and drums have some experience (beginner level to advanced) on their instruments. Singers of all abilities are welcome.

HOW TO BOOK
Places are limited by a set capacity per instrument and will be offered on a first come, first served basis once booking opens. Once instrument spaces are filled, we will be unable to accept further bookings.

Places must be booked in advance – please do not show up on the day without a booking.

Full bursaries are available for families in receipt of benefits-related free school meals. Please book through the EEQU website:
https://eequ.org/book/musinc-gig-school-haf-with-sammy-18068

We can also offer a staggered payment option – please email us to enquire and reserve this option.
Please note all staggered payments must be paid in full 5 days before the event.

Please note: The running costs of this activity are jointly funded by Musinc’s Youth Music grant funding and income made from ticket sales (which are subject to VAT). We try to keep costs as low as possible whilst providing the highest quality experience we can.
